On-the-Job Training Blog: Week 10

Day 43 (April 7, 2025)

For the forty-third day, starts another new week of our OJT and continue the CMS. To start, we had a short meeting with Ma’am Llovido and Sir Cedric and check on the progress of the CMS. I also found a plugin that would dynamically display the articles from the article pages. The Post Grid is the name of the plugin and it helped with the design/layout of these pages even if you are using Elementor. I also realized we could also add this to the homepage so we could finally dynamically display the article cards and the featured article instead of just making it static and change it one by one for every new article post. It actually worked, and it dynamically displayed the articles. Since there still no actual articles posted, we just made test articles to check whether the plugin would help us or not

Day 44 (April 8, 2025)

For the forty-fourth day, as usual we still continued creating pages for the CMS. For this day we finally started to add the articles that was given to us by the CSSP students which was their final task before finishing and getting the certificates of their OJT. We added it for each division at least one for each so we could see whether it would actually dynamically display on the Homepage which worked. After that we were called upon by sir Mike to go to the main campus and advised us on what plugins he used in the CMS as well as advise us on the scorecard

Day 45 (April 10, 2025)

For the forty-fifth day, we continued in the development for the CMS. We checked out some of the features that sir Mike has told us. I also added a plugin which is PostX so we could design the pages from that cannot be easily changed with Elementor, like the searched pages. Sadly, you can only design one dynamic page so the one I picked is the Search pages. With that I added a search function which is placed at the header. It is nice that we can actually change the design/layout of it since the featured images were too big and the preview text doesn’t really look good because of the layout.

Day 46 (April 11, 2025)

For the forty-sixth day, we finally started to do the initialization for the scorecard. We started to create a repository for the scorecard in GitHub. It is just similar to what we did on the cancelled Laravel CMS, add users as contributors in the repository, and then clone the forked repository into our computers. We are now using the latest version of Tailwind as well as Laravel which already has a built-in sidebar which is perfect for our project. We will also use Filament rapidly build the back-end side of the system. Also, another task was assigned to us which is to create a design and layout the Program Schedule for the upcoming meeting at Hotel Lucca. We searched for inspiration on how the schedule would look like but decide to re-use the assets from the tarpaulin design which made the design process a lot quicker.

Day 47 (April 12, 2025)

For the forty-seventh day, we decided to go to RDE and continue our OJT even if it is Saturday. We think that we should continue it so that we could finish our OJT a bit faster and to also catch up some of the missing days we had because of the holidays. There was also no power for the whole of Albay, so it is kind of perfect since there is also solar power in RDE. For this day, we just continued what we started on the Program Schedule that was assigned to us. We adjusted the layout as well as check to sir Russ the contents of the schedule. There were some changes that as asked to us like the names and additional schedule which were adjusted accordingly. For the score card some small UI adjustments were only done for the day like in the sidebar.
